If you are a professional therapist, I am an experienced supervisor and trainer. I offer a confidential and nurturing space for practitioners seeking clinical supervision or CPD training. My practice is normally fully booked, but I welcome enquiries.

If you are seeking therapy, my practice is normally fully booked, but you may also find counsellors / psychotherapists via BACP's Therapists Directory or art therapists / art psychotherapists via BAAT's Find an Art Therapist service.

My professional approach: 

My approach is person-centred and collaborative, working in partnership with you to maximise your strengths and choices.

Professionally, my approach is pluralistic / integrative, with a core orientation which is person-centred informed by psychodynamic and systems theories. My practice is trauma-informed and I work collaboratively, aligning with co-production principles and practises. My work is also informed by humanistic, systemic, environmental, psychodynamic / attachment, existential / transpersonal, & CBT theories. 

My main current roles include: 

• BACP Senior Accredited Supervisor, supervising Art Psychotherapists, Counsellors / Psychotherapists, Line Managers, CEOs, and other professionals. I supervise for diverse organisations in statutory, third sector, forensic, and voluntary settings; and practitioners in private practice.

• BACP Registered Senior Accredited Psychotherapist / Counsellor. My competences and practice standards are recognised by BACP as being aligned to column C in the SCoPEd framework (BACP, 2025; PCPB, 2025). See BACP Register.

• HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist. See HCPC Register.

• Appointed as a Vice President of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (2025 - ongoing). 

• Invited and appointed as a Commissioner on the Commission for the future of counselling and psychotherapy (PCPB) (2025 - ongoing).

• Appointed as regional representative for Art Therapy / BAAT on the central Advisory Committee of the Allied Health Professions (ACAHP) to the Department of Health NI. (Mar. 2024 - ongoing). Nominated by AHPFNI / BAAT. ACAHP is a statutory Advisory Body whose function is to provide advice to the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety NI (DHSSPSNI) on the planning and provision of Allied Health Professions’ services in NI. See Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). (Previously I was also on ACAHP for six years.).

• Core tutor - I teach several trauma-informed and post-qualifying courses: 

• • A core trainer with Awen - CPD, teaching regular post-qualifying CPD seminars and short courses, such as: art therapy / psychotherapy theories and praxis; eco-practice; sand tray work; using fairy tales & myths in art psychotherapy, etc.

• • I am a core tutor on several post-qualifying courses: 

• • • a Level 5 Post-Qualifying Diploma in Trauma Informed Counselling / Psychotherapy with Children & Young People (CPCAB) (2013-ongoing); 

    • a Level 6 Post-Qualifying Certificate in Creative Supervision of Practice Across the Age Range (CPCAB) (2016/17-ongoing). 

• • A Trauma Education facilitator.

• External Quality Advisor - University of Chester, for counselling, psychotherapy, psychological trauma courses.

• Council member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), the UK professional body for Art Therapists / Art Psychotherapists. 

• Vice Chair of BAAT NI, the NI country forum of BAAT (Mar. 2023 -), & committee member of BAAT NI since Feb 2021. See: BAAT NI Instagram, BAAT NI Twitter/X, BAAT NI Facebook. 

• Committee member of the Northern Ireland Group for Art Therapy (NIGAT), Reg. Charity.

• Member of the BACP School and college counselling expert reference group, a BACP priority workstream. 

• Member of a NI coalition working to promote secure funding for counselling and arts therapy interventions in Northern Ireland’s schools. The coalition produced a report (2023): 'The case for investing in therapeutic interventions in Northern Ireland’s schools’.
